JG Faherty
Dark Fiction Writer
Creepy. Disturbing. Thought-Provoking. Curious. Haunting.
These are some of the words people have used to describe my writing. I accept them as the compliments they're meant to be. My name is JG Faherty, and I write dark fiction. My stories are intended to burrow deep into my readers and elicit emotional responses, whether they be fear, laughter, or wonderment. Emotion is lynchpin of all good fiction. People have a desire to fall in love with characters, to wonder if that tickle on the neck is a loose hair, or deadly spider. If the light in the sky is a plane or an alien ship bent on destruction.
If the touch on the shoulder in the dark is the hand of a lover or the skeletal digits of an undead creature.
That's why I keep writing stories that give me the shivers, or make me shudder with dread. Or revulsion. Or maybe even chuckle with nervous laughter. Because if they touch something within me, hopefully they will touch my readers as well.

Free Reads
As a reader, one thing I hate is going to an author's website and finding nothing but a boring list of books to buy. I mean, c'mon. You entertain me with your writing, make my web experience enjoyable too. That's what I've tried to do here. And since I can't fill the place with porn, I've added some pictures, anecdotes, rants, and even a semi-regular free read. A little something to say thanks for stopping by.
(What - you expected free gifts? Not 'til I'm making Stephen King money!)

These will change on a semi-regular basis, so please check back regularly for new entries.
