Medusa was cursed by Athena with the power to turn people to stone, and by Hera with immortality. After Athena no longer needed Medusa's head, it was buried with her body and lay there for millenia, until she awakens in Greece in 1915 when her head and body are reunited.
She is insane, having suffered through centuries of being trapped between life and death, in a semi-aware state. As she regains her sanity and her memories, she adapts to the world and spends the next hundred years since her resurrection as a modern day vigilante, helping women who have been mistreated.
Until she meets Heather Kruger, a woman desperate to protect her daughter from her billionaire husband. Medusa's plan to kill Evan becomes a fight for her own survival and revenge as Hera's gift of immortality is put to the ultimate test.
This is one of those stories that came to me out of the blue. I saw that my publisher, LVP Publishing, was looking for stories about Medusa for their novella line. I actually had the bones of a Medusa short story in my files, more of an outline than anything. I opened it up and re-read it, saw that it had the bones to be expanded into a novella, and got to work. Submitted a few weeks later and to my pleasure it got accepted!
